Boat tours are not-to-be missed and rank in the top five things you must do when visiting the beautiful Amalfi coastline. A fantastic opportunity to enjoy the coast’s stunning natural landscapes and breath-taking marine beauty close-up.
We have used the same companies for years and the wealth of experience of the boats’ captains (many of whom come from generations of local fishing families) ensures a high level of experience and service. The classic tours are a full day, either towards Amalfi or in the opposite direction towards Capri.
Boat recommendations, and the number of people on board, will be based on the different routes and distances of each tour. Shorter 4-hour tours are also available.

Pick-ups can be arranged from any location between Amalfi, Praiano, Positano, Sorrento or Capri.

CLASSIC TOURS
Amalfi Coast boat tour
Ideal itinerary:
Private boat with the services of a captain at your disposal for 7 hours.
Pick up is between 9am and 10am
The captain will sail along the coastline towards Amalfi so you can see all the key point of interests (Praiano Bay, Furore Fiord, Emerald Grotto*). You can also stop in Amalfi for a coffee and a delizia al limone at Pansa’s pastry shop.
*The Emerald Grotto has a very narrow entrance like the Blue Grotto in Capri so, for an additional €10 per person, there are smaller boats which can take you inside.
Lunch in Conca de’ Marini or at a beach club outside Amalfi and by the crystal sea (as it’s less touristy and only reachable by sea).
Back at the original pick-up point by 5pm
Capri full-day boat tour
Ideal itinerary:
Private boat with the services of a captain at your disposal for 7 hours.
Pick up is between 9am and 10am
Once in Capri:
The captain will take you for a tour around the Island (1h).
Make your wish at the famous Faraglioni Rocks!
A swim outside the White and the Green Grotto.
The Blue Grotto* (more info below).
Discover the Island of Capri port and visit the centre (please note, there is a disembarkation tax)
If you stay onboard, there are no additional fees.
Lunch options Il Riccio or Bagni Tiberio or Lo Scoglio or La Conca del Sogno (subject to availability and credit card forms).
Back at the original pick-up point by 5pm
Additional booking info:
For booking and payment, we will put you in touch directly with the boat company. Some companies prefer a deposit to secure your booking. You will need to fill in a form with your personal details for processing the payment and in case any penalties are due (last minute cancellations).
Payment will be sent directly to the captain at the end of the day by credit card.
In case of bad weather, the boat company will cancel the tour and reschedule it for another day.
Good to Know
>Capri is approximately 45 minutes from Positano, and 1 hour from Amalfi.
This time may vary depending on the sea condition and boat type.
>If you decide to get off from your boat for a stop in Capri port, please be aware that a disembarkation tax is required (from € 80).
>The Blue Grotto always has queues of boats before the entrance.
This is where you can hire local sailors, using small wooden boats, to take you inside the cave.
This tour inside the Grotto takes almost 15 mins and the cost is variable (from € 5 and up per person).
Please note that it’s not possible to make prior reservations.
>If you decide to stop in Capri, and time allows, we can arrange for you to be met by a local host at the port. She will arrange for a driver to take you from the port to the Piazzetta, the heart of Capri.
>We suggest downloading WhatsApp for free text and free calls. This may be helpful to keep in touch with the captain, who will be waiting for you at the port or outside, while you are having lunch.
While Lunch is not included in the tour price, we do provide on board: water, soft drinks, welcome aperitifs with Prosecco, snacks, and use of beach towels.
